This Privacy Policy describes how DashLab ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the DashLab mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your data.
Scope
This policy applies to the DashLab application for iPhone and Apple Watch, including all features such as workout tracking, AI coaching, training plan generation, performance analytics, and workout export. DashLab is operated by an individual developer and is available to users in the United States and Canada.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (for email sign-up), or authentication tokens if you sign in with Google or Apple. You may also provide a display name.
You may optionally provide your gender, age, weight, height, and a profile picture to personalize your experience and improve the accuracy of fitness calculations.
When you interact with the AI trainer, we collect the messages you send in order to generate personalized training plans and coaching responses.
Information Collected Automatically
With your permission, we collect precise GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and course) to track your workout routes and to provide personalized, location-aware experiences within the app.
With your permission, we collect heart rate data from your Apple Watch via HealthKit during workouts. We also calculate performance metrics such as distance, pace, calories burned, elevation gain, split times, and personal records from your workout data.
We collect basic analytics, including which screens you view, your device model, operating system version, and app version. You are identified by a pseudonymous user ID, not your name or email.
Information We Derive
We calculate performance metrics from your workout data, including pace, distance, calories, running power, grade-adjusted pace, split analysis, personal records, and aggregate statistics (daily, weekly, monthly, and lifetime summaries). We also generate AI coaching content and training plans based on your workout history and chat interactions.
Information We Do Not Collect
DashLab does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA), contacts, browsing history, financial or payment information (handled entirely by Apple), phone numbers, government-issued identifiers, or biometric data used for identification. We do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking.
How We Use Your Information
Provide the Services: We use your information to create and manage your account, record and analyze your workouts, generate route maps, detect personal records, and synchronize your data across devices.
AI Coaching & Training Plans: We use your first name, unit preferences, and summaries of recent workouts (date, distance, time, pace) to generate personalized coaching and training plans. We do not use your raw GPS tracks, heart rate data, or body metrics for AI coaching purposes.
Voice Coaching: If you enable live voice coaching during workouts, we generate audio coaching based on your current workout performance.
Analytics & Improvement: We use anonymous screen-view analytics to understand how users interact with the app and to improve the experience.
Subscription Management: Your subscription status is managed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We store only your subscription state to determine your access level.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or data brokering purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored both on your device and in our cloud infrastructure. On-device data is protected by Apple Data Protection (hardware encryption at rest). Cloud data is stored with encryption at rest, and all data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate personal information via your in-app profile or by contacting us.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw Consent — Revoke location or HealthKit permissions at any time through your device's Settings.

Children's Privacy
DashLab is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data. Parents or guardians who believe their child under 13 has provided personal information to DashLab should contact us at support@dashlab.us.
